Our MeetingMeeting for WorshipMeeting for Worship takes place at Brigflatts every Sunday at 10:30. Friends come not only from the near-by town of Sedbergh but also from an area well beyond. After Meeting there is always tea, coffee and biscuits and a chance to catch up with news, discuss the business of the Meeting or plan an event. There is a welcome for everyone of all denominations and beliefs (or none). Children and Young People’s Meetingcontinue to play an important and valued part in the life of the Meeting. Children have their own meeting during Meeting for Worship in The Schoolroom (younger children) or in the Undercroft (older children). They join the adults in the Meeting House for the last ten minutes or so of worship and often bring with them and share something that they have been thinking about or making during their meeting. If you are bringing children to Meeting for the first time, it would be very helpful if you would let the Warden know in advance. Follow the Children’s Meeting link to see what they have been doing and do some things yourself. Social eventsSocial events by the Meeting have included:• A walk and picnic in Smardale. • Meeting-for-Worship-for-Breakfast, organised by the Young People’s Meeting. • A talk at Brigflatts from members of the Hindu faith and a follow-up visit to the Hindu Temple in Preston. • An annual 'Quaker Jolly' - an event of fun and games for all ages who come to Meeting. |
